Week 3 Web Conference Reflection
EDLD 5398 - Internship in Administration
March 18, 2012
The web conference began at 4:00 on March 18, 2012. Dr. Kay Abernathy facilitated the conference. We began by discussing the courses that we were substituting in our course embedded reflections. Some chose to add the coursework that was added for the Technology Leadership coursework. One of these courses was added for the Principal Certification path was School Community Relations in place of Digital Graphics. Dawn Kirkland has been monitoring our coursework and was able to assist in answering many of the questions asked about substitution coursework.
We took time to discuss principal certification questions and to discuss the requirements for the necessary uploads of assignments in the TK20. Dr. Abernathy added that if we had any questions concerning necessary uploads to the TK20, we could address these questions to Pam Comer. If we notify Pam Comer, she will be able to assist with the requirements for the TK20. These Principal’s certification documents are not required to be posted to our Wiki eportfolio. We can email these documents to Dr. Sandy Rucker. We will need to email the Resource Course Embedded Summary Report and the Resource Course Supervised Report. We will also need to post these documents to the TK20.
We also discussed how our grade would be calculated. Our final grade is calculated by the work that is submitted to our eportfolio. This grade will consist of necessary documents required for our internship. We will also need to post our Educational Technology documents to the TK20.
We discussed the ILD. Some students have already taken the ILD and it ranges from approximately $400 to $600 depending on the region. Dr. Abernathy pointed out that we could also take the ILD in the summer when Dr. Jenkins for approximately $350. The state required the ILD for certification. We concluded the web conference with a reminder that our professors are ready to assist with any needs we might have on the necessary coursework. The next web conferences will be held next weekend.
